Magnolia dominates Blackwater to open PBA Philippine Cup campaign
The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots dominated the Blackwater Bossing, 106-84, to open its PBA Philippine Cup campaign on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
A third quarter storm after ending the first half with a 53-46 advantage gave the Hotshots an 85-66 lead as they managed to control the game en route to their biggest lead, 106-81, before taking the victory.
Zac Lucero led the Hotshots with 21 points, while Ian Sangalang had 15 points, 10 boards, two assists, and a block.
Mark Barroca added 14 points, while Jerom Lastimosa and Calvin Abueva chipped in 13 points apiece for Magnolia.
The win spoiled Christian David's 31 points and Sedrick Barefield's 24 points for the Bossing.
