PBA: San Miguel bounces back at Barangay Ginebra's expense


San Miguel bounced back at the expense of Barangay Ginebra, 104-93, on Friday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen's win came after their overtime loss against Magnolia last April 16.

San Miguel started strong and ended the first period at 25-11 before they closed the first half at 48-30. The Beermen continued to pound on the Gin Kings, until a 6-0 run around the three minute-mark handed San Miguel its biggest lead, 104-81.

Barangay Ginebra ignited a late 12-0 rally with Troy Rosario making five points, but time favored San Miguel's side to notch the victory.

CJ Perez led San Miguel with 23 points, while Don Trollano added 19 points. June Mar Fajardo registered a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, along with an assist, a steal, and a block, while Jericho Cruz and Juami Tiongson had 11 and 10 points, respectively, as San Miguel improved to 3-1.

Troy Rosario had 24 points, while Stephen Holt and Jamie Malonzo added 16 points, respectively, as Barangay Ginebra went down to 1-1.
