SBP eyes more competitions for Gilas 3x3 Women in collaboration with Uratex Dream

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas said it eyes more competitions for Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women, especially with its renewed partnership with Uratex Dream.

SBP said its collaboration with Uratex Dream, which started last year, produced great results, such as the Gilas 3x3 Women gaining more than 20 spots in rankings and placing 18th out of 51 teams in the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Women's series.

"The SBP values strong relationships with our partners and we’ve seen just how committed Uratex Dream is in helping our female basketball players,” said SBP Executive Director Erika Dy. “We produced great results in our first year together so it was natural for us to pursue even more success moving forward.”

“It’s a loaded schedule but we’ve been working hard to help our Gilas 3x3 Women prepare for this series of events. They have been very active both here and abroad and all this experience should be valuable for the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series," Dy added.

This year's pool will have the likes of Mikka Cacho, Kaye Pingol, Tantoy Ferrer, Lexi Pana, and Sam Harada in the team.

Uratex Dream team owner Peachy Medina, meanwhile, said they are honored to continue being SBP's partner in developing the women's team.

“The excellent results from the past year's efforts make it clear that we have to run it back. We laud the SBP for their leadership, and we are honored to be a part of this meaningful endeavor.”

Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women opens its FIBA 3x3 Women's Series campaign in Chengdu, China on May 2 and 3.
