Kyle Kuzma elated with new mural in Manila

Kyle Kuzma was elated upon seeing a mural of himself painted on the basketball court at the Tenement in Sta. Ana, Manila.

The Milwaukee Bucks small forward visited the mural last Wednesday as part of his activities during his second visit to the Philippines.

"I love it, it's so cool. It's my first mural on a basketball court, so I'm just happy too," Kuzma told Martin Javier in a report by 24 Oras.

For mural artist Maya Carandang, Kuzma's visit was also a dream come true for the residents of the Tenement.

“Matagal na pangarap ng Tenement na makapagpapunta somehow ng NBA players dito. We started painting since 2018, tapos after seven years, ngayon lang natupad ang pangarap na 'yon,” Maya said.

("It's been a long-time dream of the Tenement to somehow bring NBA players here. We started painting in 2018, and after seven years, that dream has finally come true.")

“The inspiration for the mural is Kyle being in Manila and sharing the love for the community here at the Sta. Ana Tenement.”

During Kuzma’s visit, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso expressed his gratitude.

"We are honored and grateful to the team who brought Kyle to our neighborhood," he said.
