UP escapes FEU for fourth straight win UAAP

The University of the Philippines extended its winning streak to four after edging Far Eastern University, 69–66, in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.

UP was leading 65-59 with five minutes remaining in the fourth period before FEU mounted a 7-2 run to pull within one, 67-66, with 2:12 left. However, a basket by Gani Stevens at the 1:48 mark ultimately sealed the victory for the Diliman-based squad as it held off the Tamaraws.

Harold Alarcon led the Fighting Maroons with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals, while Reyland Torres added 12 points.

Jorick Bautista paced the Tamaraws with 18 points, and Mo Konateh chipped in a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

With the victory, UP improved to 4–2, while FEU dropped to 1–4.
