PBA: Magnolia bounces back, beats all-Filipino San Miguel
Magnolia returned to the win column with a 120-101 victory over an all-Filipino San Miguel squad on Saturday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen played without import Justin Patton.
The Hotshots built a lead of as much as 26 points, 88-62, in the third quarter after a Paul Lee four-pointer, outscoring San Miguel, 44-32, in the period.
Magnolia then maintained control the rest of the way to secure the win.
Import Clint Chapman led the Hotshots with 34 points, six rebounds, three blocks, and two assists, while Jerom Lastimosa added 13 points, six assists, and two rebounds as Magnolia improved to 3-3.
CJ Perez finished with 23 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals, while Mo Tautuaa and Jericho Cruz chipped in 13 points apiece as San Miguel dropped to a similar 3-3 record.
