Is Andy Gemao bound for Diliman? At least for one tournament, the answer is yes.

Gemao on Saturday suited up for the University of the Philippines in the NSAC College Basketball Campus Tour at the UP Diliman campus as the Fighting Maroons took on the College of Saint Benilde Blazers.

Gemao is considered among the top high school recruits in the country. He helped Colegio de San Juan de Letran capture the NCAA Season 98 juniors basketball crown, being named to the Mythical Five in that title run. After that, Gemao continued high school basketball overseas in Canada.

He had also starred for the Gilas Pilipinas Boys team back in 2024.

Gemao played with a new-look UP squad, now without the 'Maroon 5' quintet of Harold Alarcon, Gerry Abadiano, Terrence Fortea, Reyland Torres, and Janjan Felicilda.

In the ongoing NSAC tournament, UP is led by Gani Stevens, Rey Remogat, Jacob Bayla, Sean Alter, Sean Franco, and James Payosing. Gemao also joins the lineup, fueling long-standing speculation about his move to UP after his stellar high school career.

He had also previously suited up in a preseason tournament for UP, the Pinoyliga Cup back in 2024.

UP is in the midst of a busy offseason as it looks to redeem itself following a runner-up finish in UAAP Season 88, where the Fighting Maroons bowed to De La Salle University in the finals.
