Gilas Women 3x3 sweep group stage, clinch QF berth at Asian Beach Games

Gilas Pilipinas Women 3x3 will carry a spotless record into the quarterfinals round of the 2026 Asian Beach Games after sweeping the preliminaries on Monday. 

The Filipinas pulled off a 21-15 win over Kyrgyzstan to close out its Group C run with a 3-0 win-loss card and punch an outright playoff ticket. 

Tantoy Ferrer, a former UAAP champion out of University of Santo Tomas, led the show with eight points while Mikka Cacho and Gab Bade chipped in seven and five markers, respectively. Kaye Pingol rounded out the scoring with one point. 

Gilas Women previously defeated Indonesia, 15-11, and Macao, 21-9. 

Earlier, the Gilas Men 3x3 also punched a ticket to the quarterfinals despite losing to Iran.
