Gilas Pilipinas Women end FIBA 3x3 World Cup run with historic victory over Italy

Gilas Pilipinas Women closed out their campaign in the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup with a historic 17-13 victory over world No. 11 Italy on Thursday in Warsaw, Poland.

The world No. 18 Filipinas finished their campaign with a 1-3 record after dropping their first three games against Latvia, Germany, and China.

Camille Clarin led the way with eight points and three rebounds, while national team stalwart Afril Bernardino added four points and six boards to help the Philippines secure its first-ever win on the FIBA 3x3 World Cup stage.

Mikka Cacho and Kacey Dela Rosa chipped in three and two points, respectively, as the Filipinas handed Italy its fourth straight loss in the group stage.

Gilas turned a slim 10-9 lead into a 15-11 cushion, with Bernardino and Cacho fueling a decisive 5-2 run that gave the Filipinas some breathing room.

Clarin then buried a two-pointer in the final 20 seconds to put the finishing touches on the landmark victory.
