NBA: Jordan Clarkson becomes first Filipino-American NBA champion
Jordan Clarkson is now an NBA champion, becoming the first Filipino-American player to achieve the feat.
Clarkson and the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 94-90, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to secure their first title since 1973.
He averaged 8.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game during the regular season.
In the Finals series, Clarkson averaged 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game, highlighted by a 10-point outing in Game 3.
Clarkson is the grandson of Filipina Marcelina Tullao Kingsolver and the son of Filipino-American Annette Tullao Davis and African-American Mike Clarkson. He has also represented the Philippines in international competition, including the 2018 Asian Games and the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
