Juan GDL replaces injured Scottie in Gilas Pilipinas lineup for FIBA World Cup qualifiers

Juan Gomez de Liaño will replace Scottie Thompson in the Gilas Pilipinas lineup for the July window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced the change on Friday, citing Thompson’s injury.

Gomez de Liaño also suited up for the national team during the February-March window of the World Cup Asian Qualifiers, averaging 5.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in two games.

The lineup for the July window includes Mike Phillips, Justine Baltazar, and the usual names in RJ Abarrientos, Justin Brownlee, AJ Edu, June Mar Fajardo, Chris Newsome, Kevin Quiambao, Dwight Ramos, Troy Rosario, and Carl Tamayo.

Gilas Pilipinas will face New Zealand on July 3 and Australia on July 6.
