Divine Adili's friend asks public to stop spreading false narratives: 'Allow us to mourn him in peace'
Divine Adili’s friend, Solomon Okereke, called on the public to stop spreading false narratives about the student-athlete, saying they want to mourn him in peace.
Adili passed away on June 8 along with Rene Baterbonia in a drowning incident during a team-building activity of the Ateneo de Manila basketball team.
“Please, I'm begging all of you. Please, at this time, we just want to mourn Divine peacefully. So please, if you're pushing any narrative, creating AI-generated pictures to push false narratives, I want to plead you to just please allow us to mourn him in peace,” Okereke said.
“Please, to everyone, please don't push negative narrative. Anything you're not sure of, any information that you're not sure of, please, don't just post, or don't just talk about it. Just respect the dead.”
Ateneo previously said preparations were being made to repatriate Adili’s remains to Nigeria.
