The remains of Ateneo Blue Eagles cager Divine Adili have been repatriated to Nigeria where he will be laid to rest.

On Monday, Adili's relatives, friends, and teammates, as well as officials of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), went to Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City to pay their final respects before the flight, according to a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

Adili and teammate Rene Baterbonia died on June 8 after drowning during a team building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora.

Investigations into their deaths continue.

ADMU said in a Facebook post on June 20 that it will send two representatives to accompany Adili's remains on the flight to Nigeria.

One of them is Fr. Munching de Guzman, SJ, the college chaplain.

ADMU asked the Ateneo community to include Adili and his family in their prayers. —KG, GMA News
