Pacquiao misquoted on anti-gay comments, says writer

Filipino-American writer Granville Ampong said boxing icon Manny Pacquiao never directly quoted Bible passages that were perceived as anti-homosexuals, and attacked mainstream media outlets that wrote articles that made it appear that the Sarangani province congressman issued the statement.
In a follow-up to his May 12 blog post, Ampong wrote on May 16, "Nowhere in my supposition and integration of my interview with Pacquiao did I mention that Pacquiao recited this Leviticus 20:13 nor did I imply that Pacquiao had quoted such."
Ampong cited USA Today writer Tom Weir and Dennis Romero of LA Weekly has having written that Pacquiao had "invoked...and recited Leviticus 20:12."
The controversial passage in the original blog post went, "Pacquiao's directive for Obama calls societies to fear God and not to promote sin, inclusive of same-sex marriage and cohabitation, notwithstanding what Leviticus 20:13 has been pointing all along: 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.'" — AMD/JVP, GMA News
