Floyd Mayweather Jr. books two fight dates for 2013 - ESPN

Undefeated reigning WBC welterweight champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. has scheduled two fight dates, May 4 and September 14, for 2013, ESPN's Dan Rafael reports.

Leonard Ellerbe, a Mayweather Jr. advisor, told ESPN.com, "Floyd has told us that he is fighting twice in 2013 with the first date being May 4 - Cinco de Mayweather - and the second date being September 14."

While no opponents have been identified yet, both bouts will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the report said.

Mayweather Jr. is looking to bounce back from a stint in prison for domestic violence. He served two months of a 90-day sentence before getting an early release back in August.

The 35-year-old was supposed to start his term in January, but was able to get a court order to delay it to June, so that he could take part in a fight against Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, whom he beat via unanimous decision in May.

There was no mention of whether one of those fights would be against Manny Pacquiao, thought that could possibly hinge on whether or not the Filipino wins his December 8 (December 9, PHL time) fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.

Another factor preventing the two from creating that dream bout is money, with the two failing to come to terms over the division of the purse, despite Pacquiao already agreeing to a 55/45 split in favor of Mayweather- AMD, GMA News
