Earlier in January, Marquez had said he was unsure whether or not he would retire, following a sixth round KO of nemesis Manny Pacquiao, telling Castellanos, "I do not know, honestly [whether or I will retire or not]. I will sit down to discuss this, as I've said, with my family, and together we'll see what is next."

While Marquez's wife had wanted him to retire, following a vacation with his family, Marquez allegedly made the decision to continue his boxing career.

According to the report, Marquez is now targeting an April 13 or April 20 return to the ring against either Jessie Vargas (21-0, 9 KOs) or Vyacheslav Senchenko (33-1, 22 KOs). A previous BoxingScene.com report had Marquez taking on one of the duo, with Manny Pacquiao fighting the other, with the two co-headlining the main event.

Following those tune-up matches, fight fans would then see Pacquiao versus Marquez V, sometime in September. - AMD, GMA News
