Highest-paid athlete Mayweather set to get more than $32M for Maidana bout
By JM SIASAT, GMA News

Floyd Mayweather took home yet another massive eight-figure payday after 36 minutes of work in a rematch against the hard-hitting Marcos Maidana on Saturday (Sunday PHL time).
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Mayweather was guaranteed to make $32 million while Maidana was set to make $3 million, doubling his paycheck from their first fight last May.
Mayweather, the world's highest paid athlete according to Forbes Magazine last June, is still in line to make even more once pay-per-view numbers are tallied.
There was no shortage of cash on the undercards either. WBC world super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz who did two rounds of work was guaranteed $750,000. His opponent, Miguel Roman was paid $50,000.
Miguel Vasquez who lost his IBF world lightweight title to Mickey Bey, was handsomely paid $450,000 while the latter pocketed $125,000.
Former light middleweight prospect Alfredo Angulo suffered his third consecutive defeat on the same card against fellow Mexican James De la Rosa. Angulo took home $500,000 while De la Rosa's fee was $43,000. — JST, GMA News/Reuters photo
