Mayweather's dad admits: Floyd unlikely to fight Pacquiao next

Floyd Mayweather's father and trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr. wasn't able to escape the Pacquiao related questions following his son's dominant victory over Marcos Maidana this past weekend.

Talking to a group of reporters and hitfirstboxing.com, Mayweather Sr. revealed that the much-awaited showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is unlikely to happen when his son returns to the ring next year.

"More than likely it won’t be Pacquiao," told Mayweather Sr. when asked who will Floyd Jr. fight next.

"I would say Amir Khan is number one on the list, but that’s still not even permanent."

Khan was in the mix of Mayweather's possible opponents before he took on the Argentinian in May.

And since nothing is final, Mayweather Sr. left the door open for other possible opponents.

"There’s still a few other fighters out there. I can’t say who’s permanent but whoever asks for it is gonna get it," he added. - RAF, GMA News
