Despite fledgling MMA career, Ana Julaton still not done with boxing
By JM SIASAT
Former female world boxing champion Ana Julaton have been strutting her wares in MMA recently, but it doesn't mean she's hanging up her boxing gloves.
Julaton, 34, will compete in her third mixed martial arts contest this year in ONE FC on December 5 against Walaa Abas of Egypt.
Regardless of the outcome, you can expect the Filipina fighter inside a boxing ring next year.
"Bob [Arum] said he'll promote me next year," said Julaton, adding that she's a boxer who is still in love with boxing.
Julaton revealed that Top Rank's plan is to have her fight in Macau early next year. But her ring return don't mean she's quitting MMA either, saying that she will compete in both disciplines.
"It takes a lot of hard work and discipline," said Julaton. "I need to pace myself and make sure that I don't overtrain because that could get me injured."
While Julaton admits that juggling two sports is tough, she's also hopeful to become the first fighter in history to hold world titles in boxing and MMA at the same time.
Julaton holds a professional boxing record of 13-4-1 with 2 knockouts and is 1-1 as an MMA fighter. — JST, GMA News
