HBO, Showtime, to hold talks for Pacquiao-Mayweather broadcast — report
By JM SIASAT
Rival American cable networks HBO and Showtime are scheduled to have a sitdown on Wednesday (Thursday PHL time) to discuss a joint pay-per-view broadcast for Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather, according to Los Angeles Times.
Pacquiao is signed to an exclusive contract with HBO while Mayweather on the other hand has an identical agreement with Showtime. To make the much anticipated showdown happen, both networks must come together.
The two networks have worked together previously, most notably in 2002 when they collaborated to deliver the Mike Tyson versus Lennox Lewis heavyweight fight.
According to Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, Pacquiao has agreed to the terms set by Mayweather. The deal involves the unbeaten American fighter getting 60 percent of the purse, with the Filipino fight icon getting 40 percent. — JST, GMA News
