Pinoy boxer Jeffrey Galero to fight for world title in Thailand

Misamis Oriental native Jeffrey Galero will have a date with destiny when he battles Wanheng Menayothin for the WBC world minimumweight championship on February 5 in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand.

 

The 24-year-old Galero is the underdog against the seasoned Menayothin (36-0, 12KOs), but can't be overlooked, according to the bout's Filipino matchmaker Joven Jimenez.

 

"He (Galero) has a good chance of winning, they've prepared long enough for this," Jimenez told GMA News Online. "[Galero] is pretty good and his style can match well against Menayothin."

 

Galero turned professional in 2010 and holds a perfect record of 11-0 with 5 knockouts. — JST, GMA News
