How US blizzard helped Pacquiao and Mayweather finally meet

After a rivalry outside the ring spanning years, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather finally met face-to-face for the first time at a Miami Heat game on Tuesday (Wednesday morning PHL time).

Curiously, the Filipino ring icon wasn't even supposed to be at the game.

In an interview with ESPN, Pacquiao adviser was supposed to travel to New York City after his stint as a judge in the Miss Universe pageant. But because of the blizzard hitting the northeast United States, Team Pacquiao decided to stay a few more days in Miami, and ended up attending the game.

Mayweather was also in attendance at the game, and chatted with Pacquiao at halftime and exchanged numbers.

Koncz also confirmed that Mayweather visited Pacquiao's hotel suite for a longer converstion. The Canadian national described the talk as "very pleasant and very encouraging."

"That's the first time they ever sat eye to eye. I've met Floyd many times, but he and Manny had never had a chance to meet. They talked at halftime, but this was a longer, more serious meeting. You could tell by their body language that this was very positive. It was for a good hour or more," said Koncz.

"It was a business meeting, but it wasn't a tense business meeting. I think that's because they both have mutual respect for each other. We'll determine what will happen over the next couple of days." — JST, GMA News
