PHOTOS AND VIDEO: Pacquiao, Mayweather begin respective training camps on same day

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have both plunged into training for their much-awaited mega-fight on May 2 in Las Vegas.

 

While Pacquiao has begun conditioning and mitts training in the Philippines shortly after the fight was announced last month, the Filipino ring icon journeyed this past weekend to start the main part of his buildup in what promises to be the richest fight in history. He begun preparations even without Freddie Roach, who is in Zou Shiming's corner for a fight this weekend in China.

 

GMA News' Connie Sison tracked Pacquiao's training, which began with some roadwork followed by brunch, then a light workout at Wild Card Gym.

 

 

 

Mayweather, meanwhile, also begun training for the fight, with Hollywood star Nicolas Cage even showing up to throw some support behind the unbeaten American champion.

 

 

Mayweather also posted several photos from his stint at the gym on his Shots account.
