Mayweather hires $1000-a-plate personal chef for Pacquiao buildup
Floyd Mayweather is leaving no stone unturned for the buildup to his mega-fight against Manny Pacquiao on May 2.
While the Filipino ring icon is sticking to his humble tinolang manok for his meals, the unbeaten American is paying a pretty penny for his meals cooked by a personal chef.
Mayweather said that Quiana Jeffries, aka Chef Q, cooks him meals for $1,000 — about P44,000 — per plate.
Her job? Providing Mayweather — a big fan of fastfood — with nutritious meals that are still tasty.
"He's always been mindful of what he eats but there is something different about this fight," she told TMZ.
She's also on-call for any Mayweather craving 24/7.
"If he needs me at 3 a.m., I am there cooking up breakfast."
Mayweather could certainly afford the price tag, with him set to take 60 percent of the purse — some estimates peg it at $180 million — for the richest fight in boxing history. —JST, GMA News
