WATCH: Manny Pacquiao gets nervous while watching friend's fight on TV

Many Filipino boxing fans become nervous wrecks when watching Manny Pacquiao climb atop the ring.

This past weekend, the tables were turned as Pacquiao turned into a boxing spectator.

Relaxing in the midst of training for his May 2 fight against Floyd Mayweather, the Filipino ring icon was glued to the television to watch his friend and former sparmate Ruslan Provodnikov against Lucas Matthysse.



Apart from helping Pacquiao in past fights, Provodnikov was also trained by Filipino Marvin Somodio, a member of Freddie Roach's crew.

The fight ended up being one of the most exciting battles of the year, with both boxers going toe-to-toe to exchange bombs.



In the end, however, Pacquiao saw his buddy go down fighting, as Matthysse eked out a 12-round majority decision against Provodnikov. -- JST, GMA News
