WATCH: In ESPN special, Manny Pacquiao talks about best friend dying in the ring

Ahead of his mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather on Sunday, Manny Pacquiao was the subject of a special feature on ESPN SportsCenter this past weekend. The ESPN crew traveled back to the Philippines to trace Pacquiao's roots.

Perhaps the most heart-wrenching part of the feature was Pacquiao talking about his friend Eugene Barutag, a fellow General Santos boxer who went to Manila with him to make their fortune. Barutag's dream died with him when he fell unconscious in the ring in 1995 and never woke up.

"Even though he died already, I will continue our dream. I will continue our battle."
