Mayweather made Pacquiao look like an amateur, says former world light middleweight champ
By JM SIASAT
Former world light middleweight champion Austin Trout thinks Floyd Mayweather showcased such excellent boxing skills to a point that it made Manny Pacquiao look like an amateur when the two pound-for-pound superstars fought earlier this month at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"He made the guy who people thought was the number two pound-for-pound great (Pacquiao) look like an amateur. I thought Maidana gave a better fight," Trout tells ontheropesboxing.com.
"It shows you how great Floyd was, and again, my disappointment is in Pacquiao because not only did he not lay it on the line, it looked like he was either tired or gave up around the middle rounds and that’s not normal of Pacquiao."
Contrary to what most fans believe that Mayweather made the mega fight boring, Trout says he thoroughly enjoyed the brash American's performance and even blamed Pacquiao for the lack of action.
"I enjoyed the Mayweather fight, even though it wasn’t what people thought," said Trout.
"For me it was more on Pacquiao, I thought Pacquiao was gonna be able to bring it more. He was semi-successful, he just didn’t do it enough. Floyd showed a masterful performance and something I love to watch, people with skills showcase their skills." - RAF, GMA News
