Two tickets to Cavs-Warriors do-or-die game sold at P4.5M
Two tickets to Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals have been sold at nearly US$99,000, an equivalent of more than P4.5 million.
Ticket buy-and-sell website Stubhub confirmed with ESPN on Saturday that a "well known" person bought the tickets at $49,500 each (P2,277,000).
The sale broke previous records set by the 2008 NBA Finals and the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather match in 2015.
In the 2008 faceoff between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, courtside seats sold for as much as $37,000 each (P 1.7 million), while the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout saw tickets being bought for as high as $35,000 per piece (P 1.6 million).
There hasn't been a shortage of A-list celebrities sitting courtside in this year's finals, with Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Drake, and FC Barcelona's Neymar all being spotted in attendance.
The Cleveland Cavaliers forced Game 7 after dumping the Golden State Warriors 115-101 last Thursday (Friday in Manila).
