Floyd Mayweather on Pacquiao vs. Matthysse: 'Very exciting fight, great matchup'

Retired five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather jR. gave his thoughts on the upcoming bout between Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse on July 15.

"That's a good matchup, very exciting fight," Mayweather said when asked about the fight by a group of reporters on Tuesday.

"Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse are great fighters. It's great matchup [between] two former world champions so it's going to be a very good fight."

Mayweather, who is currently in the Philippines for a visit, is also hopeful that he can get to meet his old nemesis before he leaves the country.

"Hopefully we can sit down and meet, probably have lunch or dinner and just see how's everything been going for Manny and his team," Mayweather quipped. — LA, GMA News
