Pacquiao's LA home broken into by burglars

Burglars have broken into the house of Manny Pacquiao in Los Angeles while the eight-time world champion was in Las Vegas for his fight with American boxer Adrien Broner, according to GMA News' Mav Gonzales via Twitter.

In her report on Super Radyo dzBB, Gonzales, citing information from Pacquiao's advance party, said patrolling policemen noticed one of the doors of the house open at around 4 p.m. Sunday (US time).

When the policemen learned from neighbors that no one was at home at the house that time, they immediately contacted the caretaker, an aunt of Pacquiao's, to seek clearance to enter it.

Allowed to enter the house, the policemen discovered that one of the rooms on the second floor was ransacked, with cabinets reportedly containing designer items and pieces of jewelry found open.

The policemen were still determining what items were lost as of posting time.

Pacquiao, his wife Jinkee, several of their relatives, as well as members of Team Pacquiao, arrived in LA but were not allowed to enter the house as policemen continued with their investigation. For the moment they are staying at a relative's place.

Pacquiao on Sunday (PHL time) retained his WBA welterweight title by defeating Broner via unanimous decision.

It was not the first time Pacquiao's residence in Los Angeles was broken into by burglars. In 2011, suspects ransacked his mansion located in Hancock Park.
