Manny Pacquiao suffers minor eye injury after bout with Broner

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao suffered a minor injury on his left eye following his fight with American boxer Adrien Broner.

Pacquiao, in an interview on Balitanghali on Monday, assured his fans that his eye injury was not serious, adding that it will heal after three to four days.

He said his eyeball was scratched by Broner's glove.

"Okay naman, itong ano ko lang 'yung sa mata ay nagasgas... nascratch 'yung eyeball ko... dati naranasan ko na 'to  sa kanan eh. Ngayon sa kaliwa naman," Pacquiao said.

"Wala namang namuong dugo, na-scratch lang talaga siya. May nilagay naman na mga gamot na... Okay lang, God is good. Inano lang natin, mapapahinga lang. Madali naman mag-heal 'yung scratch sa eyeball," he added.

Pacquiao said he also had a minor injury on his right eye when training for his fight with Australian boxer Jeff Horn.

During the interview, Pacquiao reiterated that he was open with the possibility of facing again his greatest rival Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"Kung gusto niya bumalik maglaban kami, kung gusto niya..." the senator said.

Pacquiao put on a dominant performance against the 29-year old American boxer to retain his WBA welterweight world title.

Two judges handed down scores of 116-112 in favor of Pacquiao, while the third had the score at 117-111.

Asked what is his secret during his fights, Pacquiao replied: "Have faith in God, have faith in yourself. Work hard and discipline and siyempre passion sa sports." —LDF, GMA News
