Pacquiao all set to face Thurman on Sunday


Senator and boxing icon Manny Paquiao is all set to get in the ring with Keith Thurman for the WBA (Super) Welterweight World Championship at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on July 20 (July 21, PHL time).

"I'm so prepared for this fight and I think this is one of the best training camps we had. I'm in the best condition and it's all set for tomorrow," the Filipino boxing champion said on Saturday.

According to GMA News' Mav Gonzales in her report for Balitanghali on Saturday, the title fight will definitely push through after Pacquiao and Thurman both registered 146.5 lbs at the final weigh-in

The crowd went wild during an intense face-off between Pacquiao and Thurman, who did not fail to declare victory over the boxing legend.

"It is my time, this is one time, and still champion by tomorrow," said the 30-year-old American.

Forty-year-old Pacquiao will be climbing into the ring for the 71st time in what is seen as his most challenging contest since his defeat to Floyd Mayweather in 2015's "Fight of the Century." —Margaret Claire Layug/KG, GMA News
