Fans begin flocking into viewing spaces for Pacquiao-Thurman bout


Filipinos gather into several public viewing places across the country on Sunday morning to watch Pinoy ring icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao clash with American boxer Keith Thurman in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In Cagayan de Oro City, locals arrived early Sunday morning and took the seats at the city hall quadrangle.

The bleachers in San Andres Sports Complex in Manila were almost filled before Sunday noon as fans began coming in early in the morning.

According to the Manila Tourism and Culutural Affairs Bureau, eight locations will hold public viewing of the Pacquiao fight in the city:

  • Tondo Sports Complex
  • Delpan Sports Complex
  • San Andres Sports Complex
  • Patricia Covered Court
  • Baseco Sports Complex
  • Dapitan Sports Complex
  • Sarmiento Covered Court

A public viewing area was also set up early in the morning in San Enrique, Negros Occidental at the San Enrique Sports and Cultural Center.

Pacquiao and Thurman will fight for the WBA Super World Welterweight Championship belt in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 20 (July 21, PHL time). —Joviland Rita/LBG, GMA News
