Jerwin Ancajas wins 8th straight defense of IBF title via TKO

Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas defended his International Boxing Federation (IBF) superflyweight title for the eighth time in row on Sunday (Philippine time) through a technical knockout against Chile’s Miguel Angel Gonzalez.

The 27-year-old pride of Davao del Norte took out his opponent in Puebla, Mexico during the sixth round, ending the match at the 1:53 mark.

Ancajas’ win improves his record to 32-1-2 with 22 knockouts, while Gonzalez’ record slips to 31-3 with 8 knockouts.

The Filipino boxer earlier received a warm welcome from the Mexican community upon his arrival to Puebla. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LBG, GMA News
