Mike Plania to undergo quarantine procedures before heading home to celebrate his win vs Greer
Mike Plania is set to return to the Philippines on Friday following his recent victory against Joshua Greer Jr. in Las Vegas.
"Magic Mike" pulled off the upset after scoring two knockdowns against the American favorite, winning via majority decision.
According to a statement from Sanman Boxing, his promoter, Plania will undergo the necessary tests and procedures before heading to General Santos City, his hometown.
"I know all the hassles I will have to go through but it’s fine as long as everyone's safety is ensured. I will comply with all the procedures just to be with my family again," said the Filipino boxer.
He said he is looking forward to celebrating "the biggest win of [his] career."
His manager and Sanman CEO Jim Claude Manangquil said they also plan to discuss Plania's future.
In his post-fight interview, the boxer said he is ready to compete for a world title soon.
His victory against Greer improved his record to 24-1 at the expense of one of the top contenders in the WBO bantamweight category. —MGP, GMA News
