Floyd Mayweather's unbeaten prospect Danny Gonzalez shot dead
Unbeaten prospect Danny Gonzalez, who signed with Mayweather Promotions in 2016, has been shot and killed in California on Monday.
According to a TMZ report, the suspect approached the 22-year-old in Moreno Valley and then opened fire. The incident occurred around 9 pm.
Police and paramedics responded to the crime scene, where the prizefighter was pronounced dead. Two teenagers who were with Gonzalez were brought to a nearby hospital to treat non-lethal injuries.
"We are very sad to report the tragic death of boxer and top prospect, Danny González," said WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman upon hearing the news.

Mayweather Jr. also paid tribute to the young fighter in an Instagram post.
"R.I.P champ gone but never forgotten," he wrote.
An investigation is underway but the police are yet to find a suspect and the motive remains unknown. —MGP, GMA News
