Mayweather and Logan Paul to fight next year in 'Super Exhibition'
It’s official: Floyd Mayweather is set to go back into the ring next year to fight with internet star-turned-boxer Logan Paul.
After months of speculation, the undefeated boxing champion himself announced the “Super Exhibition” against the controversial YouTuber on social media.
Based on the teaser, the event between "The Champ" and "The Maverick" is scheduled to happen live on February 20, 2021, exclusively on Fanmio PPV.
Rumors about a Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight began to circulate as early as September 2020.
A source had told TMZ that the boxing legend has been approached with an offer to fight this year but there was “no deal yet.”
TMZ also brought up the alleged show-match with Paul himself when spotted at LAX but the internet star declined to speak on the matter.
“You know I can’t say sh*t right now,” he was heard saying in the video.
With a 50-0 record in professional bouts prior to his retirement, Floyd Mayweather stands undefeated.
The 12-time, five division boxing superstar has not stepped into a boxing ring since an exhibition fight in Japan against Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018.
Mayweather also fought against former UFC featherweight and lightweight world champion Conor McGregor in 2017.
Logan Paul, on the other hand, had an amateur fight with his fellow YouTuber Olajide Olatunji, known online as KSI, last year.
According to Fanmio on Monday, tickets range for the “Super Exhibition” from $24.99 to $69.99. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA New
