Pinoy boxer Reymart Gaballo takes disputable split decision nod to capture WBC bantamweight title

Reymart Gaballo just won his biggest fight to date following a disputable split decision nod over Emmanuel Rodriguez to capture the WBC interim bantamweight title on Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, USA.

The 24-year-old from Cotabato del Sur was the aggressor the whole night but was given a boxing clinic by his opponent from Puerto Rico.

Regarded as a power puncher, Gaballo’s shots rarely bothered Rodriguez as the latter boxed and countered until the final bell.

Two judges scored 115-113 and 116-112 for Gaballo while the other had it 118-110 for Rodriguez.

The win improved the Filipino’s perfect record to 24-0 with 20 knockouts while Rodriguez dropped to 19-2 with 12 knockouts.
