Floyd Mayweather on Logan Paul fight: 'It's going to happen'

Retired five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has guaranteed that his exhibition match with YouTuber Logan Paul is going to happen.

The pair was originally scheduled to share the ring last February 20 but the fight was postponed to a yet to be determined date.

Mayweather, who recently celebrated his 44th birthday, was seemingly unbothered by the delay as he vowed to do what he does best when it is to fight.

"That's not really important right now. As you guys know I have done a lot of things in life and boxing is something I've always been great at doing. When the exhibition presents itself then I'll do what I have to do," Mayweather told TMZ.

"I know it's going to happen. We're just going to make sure everything is right and everything is where it should be," he said.

Mayweather retired in 2017 after he defeated mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor via technical knockout. He wrapped up his professional career with a perfect record of 50-0 with 27 knockouts.

In December 2018, Mayweather returned to the ring against Japanese kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa in a boxing exhibition which he won in the first round by technical knockout.

The brash American admits that he longer has the same form he used to have, but guaranteed that he is still in better shape than most.

"I'm not in training but I always try and maintain my weight and keep my body in some type of good condition," he said. "I'm not in the best shape of my life but I'm in good shape. I can take my shirt off on the beach." —MGP, GMA News
