Manny Pacquiao arrives at MGM Grand for Ugas fight

Manny Pacquiao has arrived in Las Vegas for his fight against WBA Welterweight Champion Yordenis Ugas this Saturday, August 21.

The eight-division and former welterweight champion was spotted at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino with his wife Jinkee and their son Israel on Tuesday.

The hotel is where Pacquiao is set to meet Ugas, face-to-face, for the very first time on Wednesday.

The Pinoy champ was initially up against WBC and IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence, Jr. but a retinal tear forced the American to withdraw.

Ugas was announced as Pacquiao's new opponent last Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Cuban, who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has claimed victory in 11 of his last 12 fights, the only defeat a controversial split decision loss to American Shawn Porter in March 2019.

Ugas agreed to put his WBA welterweight championship belt on the line, saying the fight against the Filipino champ “means the world” to him and was “the most important fight of [his] life.” —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
