Pacquiao posts for the first time after defeat against Ugas

Manny Pacquiao on Monday posted some of his thoughts about his loss against Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugas.

In a post on his social media accounts, Pacquiao said despite the defeat, he is still proud to represent the Philippines in the fight.

"I’m so proud to represent my country. I’m sorry I could not give you a win, but I did my very best," the eight-division world champion wrote.

Pacquiao also congratulated Ugas for the victory.

"I wish to congratulate Ugas and his team. Although I hoped for a different outcome, I wish him the best," he said.

Pacquiao on Sunday also praised Ugas for the victory.

The Philippine senator also thanked God for giving him the strength and his supporters who watched the fight.

Pacquiao lost to Ugas via unanimous decision, 115-113, 116-112, 116-112. The Cuban boxer will retain the WBA welterweight title.
