Donnie Nietes only loses his next fight if father time catches up to him, says analyst

Veteran boxing analyst Ed Tolentino is confident that Donnie Nietes will win his upcoming title eliminator against Norbelto Jimenez on December 11 at the Coca-Cola Stadium in Dubai.

Nietes, a four-division champion, is coming off a unanimous decision nod over Pablo Carillo last April.

"The way I see it, Jimenez lacks the style [to beat Nietes]. He does not throw many punches, slow, and sometimes his guard is down. I think he lacks what it takes," said Tolentino.

"Nietes likes it more if he has a tall opponent because he can precisely land his right straight and I think [Jimenez] will be a sucker for that," he added.

As far as Tolentino is concerned, Nietes should have no problem beating his upcoming foe unless father time catches him.

"Nietes will feint and Jimenez will react to those and catch him with a right straight as long as his 39 years of age does not manifest," Tolentino said.

"Jimenez had also fought weak opposition compared to Nietes. As long as old age does not manifest it is going to be a good fight. I think Nietes win this by a clear-cut decision."
