Filipinos Nonito Donaire and Reymart Gaballo make weight for world title fight
The all-Filipino world title showdown between WBC world bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. and WBC interim bantamweight titleholder Reymart Gaballo is official after both fighters made weight for their bout on December 12 (PHL time) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
The 39-year-old future Hall of Famer Donaire, who holds a record of 41-6 with 27 knockouts, came in at 117.2 pounds.
Meanwhile, the unbeaten Gaballo (24-0, 20KOs) also came in under the limit at a ready 117 pounds. The fight between the two will headline Premier Boxing Champion on Showtime.
Both fighters showed a healthy amount of respect for each other during the pre-fight press conference and promised to bring their best come fight night.
