Mayweather responds to Logan Paul's claim of not getting paid for their exhibition

Retired five-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has finally responded to the claims made by YouTube sensation Logan Paul that he is yet to pay the latter for their eight-round exhibition that took place last June 2021.

According to a tweet last month by the YouTuber-turned-boxer, Mayweather is yet to pay him six months after the fight. Mayweather has been mum about the allegation until he opened up about it in a recent interview with The Pivot Podcast.

"That comes with the territory. To them, that is real money and I like YouTube. The money is not coming fast enough. The money on the backend as far as pay-per-view, it takes a while," Mayweather said.

"If he feels like we've done great, we've done record-breaking numbers then I understand. Nothing comes right away just like I am still collecting checks from fights seven and eight years ago. Why? Because I made smart moves and I'm my own boss."

As far as Mayweather is concerned, Paul, who is 0-1 as a professional boxer, should just be grateful for landing a big fight with him.

"They hate when the tables turn. Look how many years they've been owing us money, but we never trip. Now when the tables turn, they say they owe us something. Be happy with the biggest payday you've ever got in your life."
