Unbeaten Pinoy boxing prospect Carl Jammes Martin signs with Probellum
Unbeaten Filipino super bantamweight prospect Carl Jammes Martin has made the next big step in his boxing career following a successful signing with the newly established promotional outfit Probellum.
Probellum, which is run by former Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaeffer, also houses the likes of four-division champion Nonito Donaire Jr, Donnie Nietes, and unbeaten prospect Jade Bornea.
“For the last two or three years, my team and I have been carefully studying all possible options and situations that will lay the groundwork for my international boxing success,” Martin said.
“Our patience has paid off and joining Probellum has been worth the wait. While the company itself is only a few months old, the team behind it are second to none from a boxing and business point of view.”
The 22-year-old Martin (18-0, 15KOs) is scheduled to defend his Philippines super bantamweight title and will vie for the vacant WBA Asia super bantamweight title against Ronnie Baldonado this Saturday, March 12 the Elorde Sports Complex in Sucat, Paranaque.
Though not looking past his next foe, Martin is ecstatic for the day when finally gets to represent the country on the international stage.
“I have never been so excited to showcase to the world our local culture and my skills as a boxer, and represent my country in the same way that Senator Manny Pacquiao did, the Philippines’ greatest pride,” Martin stated.
“My career will not go wrong with Mr. Richard Schaefer calling the shots and with all of his great advice. To my Wonderboy Team, this is the moment. Let’s do this!”
