Shakur Stevenson dominates Oscar Valdez to unify super featherweight titles

American Olympian Shakur Stevenson has unified The RING, WBO, and WBC world super featherweight titles following a twelve-round boxing clinic against previously unbeaten Oscar Valdez on Sunday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA.

Stevenson, 24, kept Valdez at bay all night with his crisp jabs and speedy combinations. Valdez was the aggressor and was made to pay for it when he caught a perfectly timed right hook followed by an uppercut that sent him to the canvas in round six.

Valdez, to his credit, never stopped pressing the action but was unable to land telling blows at the much more skilled Stevenson. All three judges saw the fight for Stevenson after 12 rounds, improving his record to 18-0 with 9 knockouts while Valdez fell to 30-1 with 23 knockouts.
