WBC orders Ryan Garcia vs Isaac Cruz title eliminator

The World Boxing Council has ordered a lightweight title eliminator between social media sensation Ryan Garcia and the hard-hitting Isaac Cruz.

The 23-year-old Garcia, extremely popular on both Instagram and Youtube, is unbeaten as a pro with a record of 22-0 with 18 knockouts.

He last saw action against Emmanuel Tagoe last month at the Alamodome in San Antonio where he won by way of unanimous decision.

Cruz, meanwhile, is notoriously known for being a relentless slugger and body puncher with a record of 23-2-1 with 16 knockouts.

He last fought in April against Olympic gold medalist and former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa where he won via fifth-round technical knockout.

“I’m so excited!!! This fight just got ordered by the WBC so little chance this man escapes from his fate when he enters the ring with me,” Garcia wrote his nearly 9 million followers on Instagram.

The WBC world lightweight title is currently held by Devin Haney, who is slated to face unified lightweight champion George Kambosos on June 6.
