Magno, Bautista advance to gold medal match; Petecio, Piañar settle for bronze

Olympian Irish Magno and Ian Clark Bautista will advance to their respective gold medal matches in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Magno won over Novita Sinadia, 5-0, in the women's 48-51 kg event, while Bautista defeated Cambodia's bet Rangsey Sao in the men's 52-57 kg event.

Magno and Bautista will join Eumir Marcial and Rogen Ladon in their respective gold medal matches on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Olympic silver medalist Nesthy Petecio and Marjon Piañar settled for bronze medals in their weight divisions.

Petecio fell to Vietnam's Thi Linh Tran in the semifinals of the women's 57-60 kg event, 3-2. Meanwhile, Piañar lost to Indonesia's Sarohatua Lumbantobing, 4-1, in the men's 63-69 kg event.
