Pinoy boxer Aston Palicte suffers TKO loss in Melbourne
Former world title challenger Aston Palicte has suffered another stoppage loss on the big stage following a technical knockout loss at the hands of Jason Moloney this Sunday at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
The 31-year-old Palicte was aggressive in the early going and even landed his right uppercut a few times. Moloney then upped the tempo in round two, going on the inside throwing punches to the head and body.
Palicte fought fire with fire the next round then ate a short right hand that sent him crashing to the canvas. He beat the count only to be on the receiving end of Moloney’s barrage of punches, prompting the referee to halt the contest at the 2:35 mark of round three.
The win improved Moloney’s professional boxing record to 24-2 with 19 knockouts while the Filipino pug dropped 28-5-1 with 23 knockouts.
