Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva in the works for October — reports

Youtuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul is reportedly headed towards a showdown with former UFC middleweight world champion Anderson Silva in October at a yet-to-be-determined venue in the USA.

The report initially came out on TMZ Sports and was later verified by MMA Fighting. Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, meanwhile, announced that they are about to reveal the Youtuber’s next opponent.

“Next week we will announce Jake Paul’s next opponent. Jake Paul will almost certainly be the underdog. He knows that and he wants that,” Most Valuable Promotions tweeted.

Paul, 5-0 with 4 knockouts as a prizefighter, last saw action against ex-UFC welterweight world champion in December where he won via knockout in round six. He was supposed to face Hasim Rahman Jr. earlier this month but the fight was called off because of weight disputes.

Anderson Silva, touted by many as the greatest of all time in mixed martial arts, announced his retirement from MMA in 2021 after winning just 1 of his last 9 fights.

He then went to boxing and defeated former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and ex-UFC champion Tito Ortiz.

One of the most decorated combat sports fighters of all time, Silva has compiled a mixed martial arts record of 34-11 and is currently 3-1 with 2 knockouts as a professional boxer.
